Boys Bedroom Designs from toddlers to teenagers
Why is it so hard to bring color into a boys room? You all saw Lennon's bright and cheerful big girl bedroom a few weeks ago, and now look at my son's room! Sure it's well appointed and beautiful, but it is a little bit boring, if I'm being completely honest! It's no wonder he doesn't spend any time in there.
As you know, I am sourcing all new furniture for my #portlandtoportland clients, and recently tackled their 13 year old son's bedroom. Immediately I knew it was going to be hard to bring any color in, especially when he told me the only colors he wanted were black, grey and white for his room. He also loves sports, enjoys fishing, and is into math. Even though these are his hobbies, he didn't want anything overly "themed" in his room, which makes sense as he's a teenager!
I kept it simple with the color scheme, and kind of threw him a curve ball with this blue rug. Thankfully, he loved it! He has a lot of sports memorabilia and artwork he's going to incorporate as well, but I incorporated his hobbies in the form of some very simple art work. Since they are moving here from Portland, Oregon, I wanted to put some very Maine photography on his walls. The two light fixtures in here are both very modern and industrial, making them just perfect for a brainy guy. What do you think about this teenage boy's room?
