DIy to try: reeded drawer front

A few weeks ago I was inspired to give Lennon's nightstand a little upgrade, and somehow go the idea to try an easy DIY on the drawer front. This simple reeded drawer really does take her basic white nightstand from boring to designer, and I am so pleased with the results! It was truly easy, I did it while my husband took the kids to swim lessons one Saturday morning, so really the whole thing took less than 2 hours!

tools + materials needed

For this project I used:

  1. 1/2 rounds found at any big hardware store like Lowes

  2. Gorilla Wood glue

  3. A Ruler or tape measure (I found a ruler to be sufficient for this project)

  4. Miter Shears (I have used these A LOT!!)

The Process

To start I measured the height of the drawer, and marked the length on one of the 1/2 rounds. I cut the length using my Miter Shears, and then using that as a guide, cut enough pieces to go across the entire drawer front.

After all of my 1/2 rounds were cut, I added wood glue to the back of the first one, and then lined it up with edge of the drawer, vertically. I continued this all the way across making sure to keep the reeds even moving horizontally.

That's really it! Voila! Quick, easy and a great way to give a little upgrade.
