Fall Decor in your home: The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year!....for decorating
If summers are spent sprucing up outdoor space and soaking in the sunshine, Fall is definitely the our favorite time of year to deck our interiors, especially with so much natural inspiration all around us in New England. The changing temperature and color of the leaves has us feeling super excited about nesting and ready to put some energy into creating our perfect cozy space.
Decorating for Fall and making it chic and not cheesy is no easy feat. While we are always here for your decorating needs, we are working on something extra special (something that Liz has been brewing for years and years!) to make it that much easier.
While we wait and ponder, here are some tips and thoughts to help you start decorating for the Fall season.
Bringing nature indoors carries all the things we love most about fall into your day-to-day life. Work with neutrals as much as possible. Part of what's so lovely about this season is easing our way out of such vibrant summer colors. Enjoying the muted tones of fall and all of the different shades of brown and tan feels like a nice reprieve! Wicker baskets, natural woods, dried flowers & plants are your friends this season.
Less is Often More
You donβt need to over do it. One mistake we see often is going overboard with decorating. The most successful styles are minimal, so find a piece that speaks to you and your interpretation of New England fall, and highlight that. Working with metals is another good way to do this as we see hints of copper, zinc, and brass so much or our natural environment.
DO: a votive or a couple of candlesticks with natural garland
DONβT: fifteen felted pumpkins and stuffed birds.
Adding texture and coziness with a great throw blanket is always a good choice! Sure, you may already have a throw blanket (or a few!) but nothing is better than cozying up with some tea and a perfect blanket when it's getting a little cold out. We love to drape them over chairs and sofas, and also roll them up and let them peek out of a basket in the corner of a room.
When it comes to fall decorating the possibilities are endless and exciting and we are here to help guide you in a tasteful and stylish direction. Here are some favorites fall decor items we'll definitely be stocking up on this season.
